Tonight is our last night in our first home. I'm taking a short break from packing (where did all of this stuff come from??!) while Katie is sound asleep. She's been a little sentimental over the past few days, and can you blame her? The last five years in this condo are filled with so many memories...Marco and Suzie stopping by to announce their engagement, Brian and Amanda telling us we were going to be an uncle and aunt, annual Yanks-Sox summer BBQs, late night card games, "Lost" parties, bringing home our kitten Marbles, listening to the tree frogs in the backyard before falling asleep, feeling our baby kick for the first time...finding out I was going to be a FATHER!
Yeah, I'm going to miss this place.
I keep reminding Katie that there's a reason for all of this, and now that reason is really starting to take shape...literally! Framing on the new home began Monday, and we completed the first walkthrough this afternoon. Here are some photos of the foundation, backfill, and framing progress over the last three weeks.
