Raise the Roof

It's beginning to look like a house! Framing is nearly complete. The architectural shingles were installed this week, as were the majority of the windows. On Friday, the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms were marked on-site for cabinetry and countertops; we'll finalize the layouts later in the week. This should go rather smoothly as we began the process months ago, and are now only concerned with exact measurements, location of cabinets in relation to light switches, etc.

This morning, Katie and I made our final gas fireplace/mantel/hearth selections, and on Monday we'll meet to confirm the flooring options (hardwood, tile, carpet) we chose earlier this year. Our electrical walkthrough will also be held this weekend - that could take some time. Things are moving along, which is good - because in a few short weeks, we'll have our hands full with a different sort of project!
